Tvamarie Rabbitskin is exploring new ways to communicate and says the Summer Institute is helping her to understand the opportunities that are available in the media, and helping her improve her news writing and interviewing skills. Tvamarie is a from Regina, and works part time at the casino. Her plan is to use her training in journalism and communication to pursue a career in public relations.

Desirae Desnomie

Desirae Desnomie, from Peepeekisis Cree Nation in southern Saskatchewan, is focused on a career in broadcast journalism.  She started producing movies when she was a teen-ager, with a video camera her dad bought for her 14th birthday.  She completed one year of broadcast training at Mount Royal University in Calgary and returned to Saskatchewan to complete INCA.  Desirae is a storyteller who wants to make sure First Nations’ points of view on issues is included in mainstream media coverage.  She is a jingle dress dancer and is proud to be a drug- and alcohol-free role model for her children.

Priscilla Mcnab

Priscilla Mcnab is a Fine Arts student from the George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan. She is taking the INCA summer Institute to develop her understanding of journalism and develop specific communication skills. Following the Summer Institute, she will complete an Internship doing communication and public relations for the Regina Friendship Centre.
